Details

In the past, visitors to the New Xikou Suspension Bridge had to endure the traffic jams on Provincial Highway 7, the long and winding mountain roads, and the long wait for shuttle buses. They often lose their interest in this unpleasant process. To make the trip easier, City Government launched the “Blue Highway,” allowing visitors to travel on water and reach the New Xikou Suspension Bridge with no fuss.

This season only—Travelling on the Blue Highway
The Xikou Terrace is located at the upstream of Dahan River. Due to channel fill deposits, sailing is only possible when the water level of the reservoir is at least 240m. Precipitation has been high this year, making the Blue Highway possible. Visitors can board the ferry from Daba Harbor or Amuping Harbor to go to New Xikou Suspension Bridge. Ferries will depart when there are 10 to 15 passengers aboard (Regular ticket price 400NTD, discounted ticket price 300NTD). Visitors can enjoy the view of Longzhu Bay, Amuping Ecological Park, and Ginger Island along the river. Fish cuisine can be found in the restaurants around Shihmen Reservoir.

Ticket package for the Blue Highway
The Blue Highway ticket package, including a day-pass for Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Shihmen Reservoir Route, round-trip ticket for the Daba ferry, and an entrance ticket for New Xikou Suspension Bridge, is priced at 455NTD after discount (Original price 550NTD). A small gift is also included in the package. Visitors with this ticket can board the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Shihmen Reservoir Route from Zhongli Station, and then take the ferry from Daba Harbor to go to New Xikou Suspension Bridge.
