The “Taoyuan so pretty!” campaign makes its way to Thailand. City government collaborates with travel agencies to gain business.

Posted Date:2019-06-10

With the visa waiver launched for Thai nationals, the growth of incoming tourists to Taiwan has been steady. In order to promote tourism to the Thai market, Taoyuan City Government led a group of hotels, souvenir vendors, and travel agencies to Bangkok to attend the “Taiwan One More Time” travel fair. Through direct interaction with local consumers, the group promoted Taoyuan tourism and related merchandises.

So thoughtful! With red-eye flights between Taoyuan and Bangkok, you don’t have to worry about accommodation anymore.
Department of Tourism, Taoyuan City Government collaborates with Tigerair Taiwan and hotels in the city to launch the package deal of flight IT506 with a night’s stay in Taoyuan at the discounted price of 6,490THB, allowing travelers arriving late to enjoy a relaxed night’s stay in the city. An additional 100NTD discount is available for travelers taking taxis from the airport. To provide a better travel experience, the city government integrated various discounts for businesses including the Visitor Center, Kuo Yuan Ye Museum of Cake and Pastry – Yangmei Branch, Republic of Chocolate (Hunya Food Co., Ltd), Window on the World theme park, Acorn Men’s Suit, and Zang Yi Restaurant upon presentation of a Tigerair IT506 boarding pass. Taiwan Tourist Shuttle tickets, Chi-pao experience, gourmet food, DIY activities, and theme parks—Taoyuan has much to offer to visitors from Thailand.

So convenient! One-stop upgraded travel service for international tourists
One of the highlights of this promotional campaign in Thailand is the one-stop travel service for international tourists, specifically the free luggage delivery service to 33 participating hotels in Taoyuan. With the one-day “Taoyuan Metro Tourist Shuttle Joint Ticket,” tourists can take the Airport MRT without their luggage to the HSR station, where they can take the Daxi express route of Taiwan Tourist Shuttle to visit attractions such as Daxi and Cihu.

So much fun! Thai travel bloggers visit Taoyuan. City Government collaborates with local businesses to find business opportunities.
More than 20 Thai bloggers visited various attractions and stayed at hotels in Taoyuan. The campaign group, through exchanges with the Thai bloggers, learned about the travel preferences of Thai people: for instance, Thai tourists are very keen on taking photos for social media. They are also very interested in DIY experiences. Pineapple cakes, sports shoes, convenient store coffee are some of the must-buys. Department of Tourism of Taoyuan City Government also held sharing sessions for the bloggers at the Taiwan One More Time travel fair for exchanging travel experiences and stories.
