Starting on May 1st, the new Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes will offer passengers a more convenient transport to tourist attractions from the major railway stations. Cihu Route is replaced by Daxi Express Route that departs from Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station and takes passengers directly to Daxi Old Street and Cihu in 40 minutes via the expressway (operates daily; One-day pass is NT$130). The new express route saves time for tourists who would have otherwise spent 70 minutes (or up to 2 hours on holidays) via the original Cihu Route. The Theme Park Route will be replaced by Shihmen Reservoir Route that goes from Taoyuan Bus Zhongli Station to Shihmen Reservoir, stopping at Longtan, Sankeng Old Street, Shihmenshan, Bading, and Shihmen Reservoir (operates on holidays only; One-day pass is NT$100). Xiaowulai Route remains unchanged, running between Taoyuan Bus Terminal, Jiaobanshan and Xiaowulain Skywalk (operates on holidays only; One-day pass is NT$150).
Daxi Express Route departs from Taoyuan Airport and directly goes to Daxi
To enhance the convenience of traveling in Taoyuan for international visitors, Cihu Route is replaced by Daxi Express Route starting from May 1st. The new express route offers direct transport to tourist attractions in Taoyuan. The new route along with service offered at the stations, multilingual bus environment, and multilingual attraction guides create an internationally friendly transportation service. To promote the new line, the Department of Tourism and Taoyuan Metro collaborated on releasing 1,000 joint tickets for visitors to travel quickly from Taoyuan Airport to Daxi in 40 minutes by transferring at HSR Taoyuan Station (Taoyuan Metro A18 station). The pass only costs NT$120.
Shihmen Reservoir Route for outdoor sports and recreational activities
To appeal to tourists who are into sports and outdoor recreation, the Theme Park Route is replaced by Shihmen Reservoir Route which departs from Taoyuan Bus Zhongli Station to Shihmen Reservoir, stopping at Sankeng Old Street, Shihmenshan, Bading and Shihmen. This new route takes passengers to destinations suitable for jogging, hiking and cycling. It also stops at family-friendly destinations including tourism factories, Old Street River Education Center, Hakka Cultural Park, Fish Restaurant Street and more.
The upgraded Taiwan Tourist Shuttle ticket is the VIP card you need traveling in Taoyuan.
Starting on May 1st, ticket holders of the one-day pass of Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Daxi Express Route, Shihmen Reservoir Route or Xiaowulai Route can get special discounts at designated stores and restaurants. On top of that, ticket holders can also redeem for “peach hand cream” or “Fuyuan Honey Black Tea” at visitor centers in Taoyuan (Taoyuan Railway Station, Zhongli Railway Station, Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station).
